Visiting hours at the hospital are between 2pm-8pm daily.  Arrangements can be made with ward staff for visiting outside of these hours. Visitor numbers may be restricted if you are very unwell, but visiting hours will be more flexible if you are a patient in Emergency Department, Children’s Ward, Critical Care Unit or our Acute Assessment Unit.

We welcome your nomination of a Support Person, who can be with you throughout your stay with us. A support person can stay with you, and help look after you, if that is your wish. There is more information on being a “Support Person” in the Visitor Information brochure.

While visitors are important to your recovery, it is also important that we restrict visiting hours and the number of visitors you have at any one time, as this may impact on other patients around you. Time to rest while you are in hospital is essential to your recovery.

Infection Control for Visitors

Everyone plays a part in fighting the spread of infection, including health care staff, patients and visitors. 

It is important that you do not visit a patient if you are unwell. If you have a cold, sore throat, upset stomach or diarrhea you should stay at home until you are fully well. 

Before visiting a patient on the ward, please use the hand sanitizer, which is available by the doors to each ward. Rub it all over your hands and between your fingers until your hands are dry.

Many diseases are spread through sneezes and coughs. Cover your nose and mouth when coughing, and wash hands afterwards.
