A wide range of Mental Health services is offered under the Whanganui District Health Board’s provider arm Good Health Wanganui.
The services are provided for people aged between 2 and 65 years of age in a range of settings in the community and at the Wanganui Hospital campus on Heads Road.
The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists/doctors, clinical psychologists, mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, rehabilitation association and Mäori mental health workers, who provide a range of assessments, clinical interventions and rehabilitation programmes including service co-ordination.

• Te Awhina which houses the Adult Acute In-patient Services and Day Services;

• Delta which houses Intensive Rehabilitation and Extended Care;

• Stanford House – an extended secure regional forensic unit;

• Te Hunga Piki-Te-Ora (Mäori Mental Health Service);

• Child, Adolescent and Family Services;

• Alcohol and Drug Service;

• A Community Mental Health team is based on campus and a second is based at the Rangitikei Rural Health Centre.
