The Board and Committees of the Board provide the governance of Whanganui District Health Board.

The Board consists of seven members who are elected by the community and four members who are appointed by the Minister of Health. The full Board is accountable to the Minister of Health.

The Board established its committee structure in line with Section 34, 35 and 36 of the New Zealand and Public Health Disability Act 2000. The committee structure comprises:

• Community and Public Health Advisory Committee
• Disability Support Advisory Committee
• Hospital Advisory Committee.
