Manawa Ora
Manawa Ora is a free service helping whānau with tamariki to make their home drier and healthier.
How we can help
Manawa Ora may be able to help if:
- you live in your own home
- you live in a rental
- you live in a Kainga Ora house
- you need help to find a home.
If you are eligible, a community health worker/kaimahi from one of our Whānau Ora providers across Northland will be assigned to your whānau. They will contact you, visit you in your home, and complete a comprehensive housing assessment.
This will identify what we may be able to provide to make the home warmer and drier. We may be able to provide:
- insulation
- curtains
- carpet (in Kāinga Ora houses)
- heating
- and or beds and bedding. If you have a Community Services Card, and you are pregnant or have children under 5, you may be eligible.
