Manawa Ora

Manawa Ora is a free service helping whānau with tamariki to make their home drier and healthier.

How we can help

Manawa Ora may be able to help if:

  • you live in your own home
  • you live in a rental
  • you live in a Kainga Ora house
  • you need help to find a home.

If you are eligible, a community health worker/kaimahi from one of our Whānau Ora providers across Northland will be assigned to your whānau. They will contact you, visit you in your home, and complete a comprehensive housing assessment.

This will identify what we may be able to provide to make the home warmer and drier. We may be able to provide:

  • insulation
  • curtains
  • carpet (in Kāinga Ora houses)
  • heating
  • and or beds and bedding. If you have a Community Services Card, and you are pregnant or have children under 5, you may be eligible.
