Senior doctors and dentists at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike for 48 hours on Tuesday 23 September and Wednesday 24 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only. GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strike and will continue to operate as normal.

Our specialist cancer nurses and psychologist work with visiting medical and radiation oncologists to provide your care.
We help you to coordinate your journey from diagnostic tests and specialist appointments to diagnosis and first treatment. We:
- coordinate care between Waikato and Gisborne Hospitals
- care for cancer patients in the community
- run monthly oncology outpatient clinics
- deliver chemotherapy treatment in our medical day unit.
