Nau mai haere mai. Welcome to Planet Sunshine.
Here is our friendly receptionist that greets all our children and checks them in. This is our waiting area, where forms will be filled out for your child's appointment. There are plenty of books and toys to play with.
When it is time for your child's appointment, they will be taken this way by the nurse who will see how tall they are and how much they weigh, just like Mr Rabbit.
You and your child will come into this room and you will get to talk to the nurse and answer any questions you might have before your child's surgery. Their blood pressure, pulse and temperature will be taken, and they will also wear special pyjamas, just like bear here.
Next we will go to the inpatient side of Planet Sunshine. You will get to say hello to the nurses and doctors that are working, and then your child will be shown to their bed.
We also have a super cool play area with heaps of toys, books, movies and equipment.
Next we will go down to the isolation part of Planet Sunshine, where some children might need to stay if they are infectious, or some of our older children might stay here too.
Family and whānau are welcome to use our amenities at Planet Sunshine.
Depending on why your child is visiting Planet Sunshine, they may need to go to theatre. The child will check in with a staff member in theatre whilst they get all their details checked. One parent or caregiver is allowed to come into theatre whilst their child is being put to sleep.
Thanks for visiting Planet Sunshine. Ka kite.
