Community-based Māori Health providers

Te Whatu Ora Whanganui has five geographically-based iwi providers.

Kaupapa Māori Health Service are provided by these five Iwi health organisations and may include:

  • Whanau Ora (family health)
  • Well Child/Tamariki Ora (child health)
  • general practitioner services
  • Māori community nursing
  • Rangatahi (youth health services)
  • mental health
  • disability support services,
  • health promotion and education.


Maori Health Outcomes Advisory Group


These iwi providers play a crucial role in guiding and helping Te Whatu Ora Whanganui to understand what makes a difference to our Māori populations’ health outcomes. In recognition of their knowledge, understanding and expertise in Te Hauora Māori, the Māori Health Outcomes Advisory Group was formed to bring iwi providers together to advise and support Te Whatu Ora Whanganui with service planning and development.
