Kia Ora Hauora - WDHB Partnership Programme

back

Kia Ora Hauora is a Māori Health workforce development programme aimed at promoting the health industry as a great career choice!

Kia Ora Hauora 'Supporting Māori into Health' is a national programme established in 2008 to increase the overall number of Māori working in the health and disability sector.

The programme has been developed in response to the national and international shortage of health sector workers - and the demand for more Māori health professionals in the sector.

Led by Counties Manukau DHB, the programme links with all DHBs throughout the country who actively deliver the programme within their regions. Counties Manukau DHB also works alongside Te Rau Matatini - a national Māori workforce organisation tasked with engaging effectively with the health sector.
