Wairarapa Hospital has 3 operating rooms for both public and private theatre sessions covering:

We also have visiting specialists that provide services onsite including urology, oncology and chemotherapy.
Wairarapa Hospital's private wing, Selina Sutherland is one of only two private hospitals in New Zealand built inside a public hospital. The private hospital also leases theatre time and support services from Wairarapa Hospital and carries out 500 to 600 surgical operations each year, funded by ACC and through health insurance.

Cities and towns in Wairarapa
The main centres in Wairarapa are Masterton, Carterton, Greytown and Featherston. There are also many of rural communities throughout the region.
Masterton
Masterton is the largest town in the Wairarapa. Known for its deep farming roots, family-friendly vibe, and the annual Golden Shears sheep-shearing competition.
Carterton
Carterton is nestled in the heart of Wairarapa. It is known as New Zealand's 'Daffodil Capital'. It blends colonial architecture, creative arts, and easy access to outdoor adventures like the Waiohine Gorge and Tararua Forest Park.
Greytown
Greytown is a charming rural town in South Wairarapa. It is celebrated for its beautifully preserved Victorian architecture and boutique-lined main street — offering cozy cafes, designer shops, and heritage.
Featherston
Sitting at the foot of the Remutaka Ranges, Featherston blends railway heritage, military history, and creative energy with easy access to cycle trails and wild coastal adventures.
