Senior doctors and dentists at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike for 48 hours on Tuesday 23 September and Wednesday 24 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only. GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strike and will continue to operate as normal.

He Tupua Waiora - Pregnancy and Parental Service provides free clinical assessment, information, and support to parents of children under the age of 3 (including wāhine hapū) who are struggling with substance use concerns.
We provide intensive follow up and liaise closely with agencies to provide a wraparound service for whanau. We also provide specialist parenting support for the all-important first 1000 days. The service includes access to psychological therapies, psychiatric reviews, counsellors and social workers.
This is a free service provided in Whangārei and Kaitaia Far North areas.
