Report on maternity

The report on maternity web tool helps you explore trends over time using interactive graphs and tables. From the tool you can download:

• filtered results
• data dictionaries
• full data sets.

The web tool presents the following information.

• The demographic profile of women giving birth, for example age, ethnicity and whether they live in areas with higher or lower levels of socioeconomic disadvantage.
• Selected antenatal factors, for example whether the pregnancy is single (one baby) or multiple (twins, triplets), how many times a woman has previously given birth to a baby who reached a viable gestational age.
• Events relating to labour and birth, for example type of birth, interventions and place of birth.
• The demographic profile of live-born pēpi, their birthweight and gestation and care provided after birth.
