The following options below will help you find feels right for you. You might want face-to-face coaching with the same person each week at our local clinic or share your story by talking to others who are quitting online. Go on, give it a go, kia kaha!

 

Ngā Taura Tūhono Regional Stop Smoking Service

  

 

Ngā Taura Tūhono’s team of qualified quit smoking practitioners know when individuals and families start the journey to being smokefree, they’re starting the journey of transforming themselves and their future. We are here to support you through that journey.

 

The service has a range of options available to provide support including clinics in a range of places, and we can come to your home or workplace.

 

They also have FREE nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) available, such as nicotine patches, lozenges and gum, to assist you with stopping smoking. These are very useful at helping to reduce the craving for a cigarette and roughly doubles your chances of quitting successfully.

 

The clinics all have Smokerlyzer breath testing equipment so you can find out how much carbon monoxide is inside your lungs and track your progress.

 

They understand everyone is different so their dedicated team is available to help you in any way that they can, for as long as you need.

Medical Centres and GP services

 

Your local medical centre and GP surgery can offer you full smoking cessation services. This can include nicotine patches, gum and lozenges but also the prescription only medications such as Zyban and Champix.

Make an appointment with the GP or nurse to discuss what is best for you and which medication is appropriate to assist you in becoming smokefree. Charges may apply.
