As part of the Downer New Zealand Masters Games’ sports schedule, Whanganui District Health Board is offering free fitness and recovery sessions and health and wellbeing seminars at the Games Hub, Whanganui War Memorial Centre.

As the Health Partner for the Games, WDHB is focussing is on healthy ageing, with the fitness sessions and wellbeing seminars reflecting this.

“Positive ageing is a big driver of the work the district health board does, as fit and connected people are less likely to have on-going health conditions and need medical care,” says Russell Simpson, WDHB Chief Executive.

“We are anticipating a good turnout for the sessions, from both Games participants and anyone in our community who wants to give it a go,” he says.

The classes and seminars, run by WDHB health professionals, are open to anyone – you don’t need to be a Games participant. Please bring water and comfortable clothes to the classes.
